This smooth sunscreen lotion contains no chemical UV absorbers and delivers uniform, non-chalky protection. The company's crosspolymer ensures high stability and allows for easy formulation of the lotion. A combination of light and heavy esters provides pleasing aesthetics during application and lingering emolliency. A mild humectant is added to slow excessive water loss at the skin-product interface and reduce water loss from the lotion.

Application: Sun Care

Formula Procedure

Combine A in the main vessel. Begin heating to 65°C. In a separate vessel, combine B and heat to 65°C. After B is uniform, disperse C into B. Polymers will be a slurry in the oil phase. Using rapid agitation, add BC to A. Mix to form a smooth, viscous emulsion. In a separate vessel, combine D and mix well. Using moderate agitation, slowly add D to the batch. Slowly cool batch using moderate continuous agitation. Mix until uniform. Add E to the batch. Mix until uniform. Check final pH, and adjust to 6.7 – 7.0 if necessary. Note: For optimal stability with TiO2, it is important to keep pH in this range.
