Hand cream formula (#BCI0615)

Formula Procedure

Heat A to 80ºC. Heat B to 75ºC. In B, let xanthan gum swell in water as the water comes up to target temperature at a slow rate. When close to target temperature of 75ºC, add the remainder of B. Emulsify A into B until homologous, then cool. Start the cooling process at 50ºC; shut homogenizer off and switch to a side swipe and prop if possible (side wipe will be sufficient by itself, if not). Add C at 40ºC. D should be mixed together as a sub phase thoroughly after PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil has been warmed until clear. Add D to the batch while mixing thoroughly. Cool to RT.

Packaging should be in a sealed container to prevent oxidation and/or microbiological growth.
