This formula yields a foundation with broad-spectrum protection by using polymeric sunscreen stabilizer and substantivity aid, in combination with surface-treated pigments.

Formula Procedure

In main vessel, combine A with mixing and heat to 87°C. To a secondary vessel, add B and begin mixing. When B is homogeneous, add C to B with sufficient shear for proper dispersion. When BC is uniform, add D and heat BCD to 90°C. Add E individually in order to BCD with continued mixing. In a separate vessel, combine F until homogeneous. Add F to A just prior to combining phases. When BCDE and AF are uniform and at the defined temperatures, add BCDE to AF with continued mixing. After 10 min, switch to homogenization and start slow cooling. When batch reaches 55°C, stop homogenizing and resume sweep mixing. When batch is at 50°C, add G. In a separate vessel, combine H and mix until homogenous, then add to batch. When batch is uniform, add J. Continue cooling and stirring until a smooth, homogeneous lotion is formed.
