This flowable, whitening sun care lotion illustrates the use of a polymer to provide effective stabilization to the emulsion with titanium dioxide and UV absorbers.

Application: Sun Care

Formula Procedure

Combine B, mixing until homogeneous. Mix A in a suitable vessel and heat to 75°C. With continuous stirring, add B to C. Heat batch to 75°C. Add A to BC with stirring and continue mixing until uniform. Homogenize at 11,000 rpm for 35-40 seconds while maintaining a temperature of 75°C. Cool to 60-70°C. Add D to batch with stirring. Mix until uniform. Cool batch to 50-60°C. Neutralize to pH 6.8-7.0 with E. Mix until uniform. Cool batch to <40°C. Add F to batch, mixing until uniform.
